Current import/export numbers for US (see latest Richebacher for excellent explanation) are ugly. Since size of imports vastly exceeds size of exports, the latter must fall dramatically or the former must rise dramatically to have any impact and that simply isn't happening. The buck has a long way yet to fall.

But of course folks in the US don't seem to care..... except for the rising tide of the unemployed.

As I have noted many times in the past, the most important stats to watch (with respect to where the stock market will inevitably go) are lay-offs and consumer borrowing. Both continue to head south.
