Cary, I don't know how anyone defines the start of a secular bull. Probably can't be done until years after the start. Here's a LT chart for those who wish to pursue this. finance.yahoo.com^DJI&d=c&k=c1&a=v&p=s&t=my&l=on&z=l&q=l

Stark Contrasts

Sellers:

ALTR yahoo.multexinvestor.com

AMAT yahoo.multexinvestor.com

MXIM yahoo.multexinvestor.com

NVLS yahoo.multexinvestor.com

Buyers:

A: yahoo.multexinvestor.com

CACS yahoo.multexinvestor.com

LRCX yahoo.multexinvestor.com

UTEK yahoo.multexinvestor.com

three of the four on the bottom list have sure outgained the others

Not saying the bottom list are better companies, just they were not seen "as good" so they fell more and thus had more "bungie potential"...

Interesting how there are 3 groupings... up 45%, up 90% and up 135% if you leave out the telecom stock. I didn't put xlnx and lltc in but I suspect they track mxim and altr which have had impressive 90% gains.

Interesting stuff.
