> US servicemen have to swear an oath that they are prepared to die for their President.

radomes.org

>>>I, _________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. <<<

Interesting to see that the President, in fact, has dictatorial powers. His word goes.

Will you please quit sending such long replies to my messages. <s> I have a hard time digesting.

<< I believe the US servicemen have to swear an oath>>
True. But there was never such genuine admiration for our former president Clinton. In fact they despised him.

<<<<widespread international condemnation for US actions in Iraq.>>>
Yes, I agree that the intellectuals and major media are against this action. All my limited contact with those visiting here the opposite seems true. (I have an importing business and many of my contacts visit me)

<<<<Frankly, I cannot see the polemic being solved by conflict,>>>>
I am afraid that I see the only solution to these problems is force. One side or the other has to win. We tried to negotiate with Hitler but it was impossible.. The American Civil war could not be solved by negotiation. Compromise was tried but failed. One can only negotiate with reasonable people but I believe terrorists are not reasonable. Israel offered 95% of what Palestinians wanted but it was rejected.

<<<believe that Israel was somehow involved.>>
To me that statement is beyond belief.

<<<<I wonder what you feel about the opinions expressed in this article?><>
Full of misstatements and half-truths. For instance:
<<<<<For extorting from me and my fellow Americans $16,000,000,000.00 a year for the last 4 decades, we bless thee.>>>>
Lets figure it out. 40 years time $16,000,000,000 equals $6,400,000,000,000. That is trillion. I don't think so.

<<<<Some/many people are not at all pleased about this>>>
I think that in the future when we have defeated the terrorist and the world will be safer we will be commended for our stand. They condemned Israel for destroying the atomic plant in Iraq over a decade ago, but now I think people say it was "a good thing"
