As I see it, both the Republicans and Democrats are more concerned about preserving the "system" and the "pork barrel" and less concerned about putting things right for Joe Soap. Unfortunately, as happened in the last election with Nader and two before that with Ross Perot, the presence of a third Presidential candidate splits the vote and brings about an opportunistic rather than a democratic result. Anyway, as I repeat frequently, if voting could change anything it would be illegal. That's why I get amused to see how hot under the collar certain people become over party politics. > The state should create a new program to help those that can't help themselves Then others will call the gov pinkos and commies. Frankly, I think Clinton did a much better job for the American people than the present crowd who are just spending all the savings that were made and creating further debt to put on the heads of future generations. In fact, I'm amazed how some people are blinded by military escapades to such an extent that they can't see how the nation is being screwed, including them. > Why do people prefer lemming behavior I think it has a lot to do with education (brainwashing) and the illusion of safety and power people feel when they're in a crowd. Also, some people like to follow a marching band. > These people obey laws and struggle like hell half the time because of that very virtue of respect for which includes the laws of our nation. I have come to the conclusion that it's only people who have to who obey the law. Clearly, when one is rich enough or powerful enough one can do as one pleases. No better example than your government. > As you can see I definitely don't fall into the I am going to take you before you screw me role. Yes, and as I also see, you definitely don't like what you see going on around you. > Believe it or not I am one heck of a good bluffer at poker but that is just a game Yes, I suppose people think you are too straightforward, maybe naive, to bluff but we both know, don't we, that there's no better camouflage than honesty to enable one to perform dishonest acts --- should one want to! Problem is it takes a lifetime to earn a good name but one can lose it in a flash. In fact, I think it's that knowledge which keeps people on the straight and narrow.
