Well it brought back memories. One of my favorite philosophy professors at the University of Texas in the 50s was John Silber who later became the controversial president of Boston University. At the time, he was an adamant, articulate, and forceful foe of the death penalty. So anyone who wished to assemble a panel debate on the topic whether in Austin or on the campus would include John. And, inevitably, in the course of the debate, one of his opponents would say something on the order of, John, what you say is only your opinion. John would then, dramatically (he had an actor's soul), look all around him, squint into the audience, etc., then turn back to the debater and say something like, well, I can't see anyone else here beside myself in my shoes, using my mouth.

Loved the comment and the thought.
