<clearly illogical...It certainly is idealistic> Quite the opposite. I can think of no other practical solution, to a world where WMD are universally available. And they will be, the process is well along, and unstoppable. The signs are everywhere. You can't stop the spread of technology. Non-proliferation worked, more or less, for 50 years, but no longer. We can't stop little un-developed nations like Iran and N. Korea from getting nukes (and I see no practical way we can, without taking horrible risks). Once you accept the inevitability of the spread of WMD technology, the rest follows. Present and past methods are illogical, impractical, in such a world. Hoo! Haa! Been there, done that Jacob. <vbg> How do you think I got so WWWOOTB??! It's gotten to the point that my only relief is found in the balm of irony and my addiction to humor! <Hoo><Haa> Sooner or later you will come to "accept the inevitability" of our starring role in this tragic comedy. For the fact that we "can think of no other solution" is but the tip of the dichotomy on which we are skewered. <vbg> You see, unless you have managed to mutate and/or secure the powers theoretically allowed to offspring of the G_ds, the old DNA is simply not capable of providing a "solution" to the terminal results you fear. In all seriousness Jacob, WMDs and personal nuclear arsenals are the least of the threats you face. There are incredible WTD (Wonders of Total Destruction) in our future. Many more WTD than we can count. Many of which have a nature we have yet to even perceive. And these WTD are not now and never will be subject to the policies and orders which emanate from our governments ...or our brains. When you come to accept this state of affairs, you will feel much better. <vbg> Of course the greatest irony of the current hunt for "solutions" is the fact that we will only finally resolve our WMD "problem" after one of the "unholy" WTD is delivered to our doorstep. The WMD "solution" will be quite clear at that point. ...Not that it will mater in the least. But it will certainly be clear. <Hoo><Hoo> 0\|0
