Putting these words in the humble Rabbai's mouth later , is about as obvious a power ploy and theological preemption as any could imagine out of the ranks of scheming Rome , interested in the establishment of an Imperial Religion worhty of her own haughty prides and aspiration. That the empire's savior is the only one holding the keys to the doors of heaven and the only Son of God , etc . This empire , you'll remember was quite desperately trying to survive. use your head - either Christ ir right and everyone else wrong... And why do I have to obey you in subscribing to this proclaimation of yours? One easily can see Jesus in this light as part of an awakening quickening in the pulse of all men tired of endless wars, perwsecutions and savagery , and the increasing area of self-exploration , self rule , common good , civility , exchange of goods and necessities , and the general improvement of society in general . It was still a very dark and threatening world , and knowledge of medicine for one was still in it's extreme infancy, let alone knowledge of biology and all other branches of most all physical sciences ...let alone knowledge of our own psyches. But studied objectively , Jesus was talking mainly to a very small audience , though you may blow it up bigger , and inflate and aggrandize as the original Mother Church did as well. That crap as you call it has the endorsement of some of the finer minds that the human race has produced , but the overly sweet and dripping melody could have been taken right off the Trinity Broadcastinbg Network , that I'll grant you. All men sin - they do not find truth within. An infant child of man sins ? All men Sin ? They do not find truth within? Given the dichotomy, paradoxes and superstitions of most of your scriptures , i don't find your view very reliable . Be careful for what you wish for, but I promise you I do have a very good replacement for that ancient nonsense about Sin and EVil , Satan and the Devil. All contrived vehicles to scare the little people into belief . To any rational mind , this is obvious. And what do you know about the other men and women of spirit in this world Brian or their lives? Our founding Fathers knew this monopoly above was corrupt , so they enforced neutrality of religion on all , for the sake of future exploration of this world's truths and our fathoming more as a society .
