Hi Ray - Is this the Dick Darman from Reagan years ? - AES (nyse: AES - news - people ) named Richard Darman chairman and said company co-founder Roger Sant assumed the new title of chairman emeritus. Darman, 59, is a partner and managing director of private-equity firm Carlyle Group. Sant will remain a member of the company's board.

Police state anecdotes, cont. Tacoma WA, police chief reported to be violent by web reporter, who then gets death threat from the police union president for reporting the allegations, "If you want to throw stones, you had better live in a bulletproof glass house." The police chief then kills wife and self, days after Tacoma's power elite closed ranks around the chief in the face of media reports of his violence.
