My dad was a commercial salmon fisherman for years. Had his own little boat.....The Hawk. Him and my grandmother did all kinds of experimenting with salmon recipes. One year my dad hired on a full blooded native Neah Bay Indian named Billy Johnson as a crew boy.

The Teryaki/honey recipe came from Billy's family.......and I can tell you right now that the Neah Bay Indians have subsisted on salmon (and whale) for centuries, and have concocted thousands of recipes. This was his families favorite.

Just marinade the salmon fillet in the sauce for an hour or two.......no more. After it's broiled, it is very tender and juicy and tastes like it's partially smoked. It's not sweet at all. The teryaki offsets the honey.

From what I have heard the Atkin's diet doesn't allow for refined sugar or white flour. Mostly a meat and vegetable thing.
