I've been reading SARSblogs written by people in China. Very disgusted to learn that spitting and hawking phlegm onto the streets and floors of buildings and vehicles is considered normal -- even in hospitals.

Apparently this is only in China. Read some comments by a Chinese woman in Hong Kong who is horrified by the Chinese who immigrate from China.

Pushing and shoving ahead of others is also considered acceptable behavior, instead of waiting in line.

One person wrote that young children have slits cut into their pants so they can squat and shit on the streets and sidewalks -- can this be true?

If so, no wonder they are having a hard time stopping this epidemic.
