I never thought I would ever like Gephardt, but I did.

I'm still more than a little negative on Gephardt. I thought he did will in the debate and was definitely surprised by that. And I'm all for rolling back the tax cuts to zero and using them for universal health insurance, for instance. However, I'm not clear yet as to just what his proposal is. Some have said it's to provide money to corporations to help pay for health insurance. That raises issues about the health care policy than need some discussion. Lots of loophole possibilites there. For instance, what to do with folk who are not insured through their workplace. Etc.

"Hey, it's a double-dip recession! Let's throw out the tax cuts and have the government take more of my money!"

"Yeah, superduper!"

Not likely. Any politician that calls for INCREASING taxes, is gonna get murdered. Nobody is gonna fall for a "universal health care" gimmick, IMHO.
