There you go my friend. There is nothing called "sound American" There is nothing called "think American" America is a melting pot all right, but each one of us retain our roots, however small. We look different, speak different, even mix up our tenses and have grammatical errors and I wold be the first one to accept that, even though you and I may not agree politically. And yes there are many amny Americans who are humble, who are giving, who feel blessed. Not all Americans are gun totting cowboys like we are currently perceived. Just because Germans and French disagree with us, we start to make fun of them. I am waiting for the day when the facist Americans (only some of them) will start sending the French-Americans and German-Americans to internment camps. And you talk about something like being racially inclined is not very American. Wel what about internment camps, what about Guantanamo Bay that Colin Powell has been talking about with Rumsfeld. What sort of Americanism is it for Rumsfeld and Cheney to hold children below 17 in internment camps without giving them a fair trial. Very un-American. After all the legal system put Bush into office. Why does he deny someone else that right to which he himself has had access to? Answer my American friend. Lets us keep the issue of WASP aside, since it seems that you are one and that it hurts you, so I won't go there. But surely, if Americanism and US citizenship is something that you want to talk about let us talk. It also seems you are from the American midwest or the south. You surely have not seen cosmopolitan US residing on the coasts of the US continent.
