So how do you fill in the blank ? Was it a messsage of asceticism and turning the other cheek perpetually and the renounciation of violence and the things of this world , to meditate on God? Or? So which side would you have chosen to be or fight on ? To Crusade against and burn the heretic Cathari "Pure Ones" who had expicitly rejected the "Sword of Peter" for lives of ascetic purity and peace , xenophongroup.com or fight for the Pope Innocent the III with the cry of " kill them all , let God sort out who is his own " ? The irony of Christianity is , that no sooner had the message of Jesus passed from his lips long ago even his closest followers , was it transformed for all centuries to follow into just another doctrine of Holy War , Jhiad and violent crusade. Perhaps one of the most "living" and closest examples today of the teachings of Jesus and that mythos of peace & purity in action could only be found over in India in a sect known as the Jains which dates back some 3000yrs , or in the strictest of monastaries . Being a genius , I can assume you indicated Jesus as your choice , now will the real Jesus , his "word" and followers of Jesus word please stand up. That the scriptures were altered and compromised often over in Rome doesn't take a genius to figure out brian , as those events in the 12th century above easily point out....and all the centuries following.
