a basic tenet of image creation or backing up of any type is to start with a good, clean copy of the operating system.

if you're experiencing bsod's or any type of instability, these issues, of course, get carried over onto the back up media.... essentially ensuring that you will experience the same behavior time and time again.

that said, a case could still be made for imaging for you in that the blue screens may one day culminate in drive failure or an inability to boot the pc.
