Statism, whether you call it Collectivism, Communism, or a Dictatorship, is the ultimate Weapon of Mass Destruction. ANYTHING can be a weapon, but it takes an ego (or worse, a super-ego ala Stalin, Hitler, Saddam) with an urge to dominate others to turn sticks and knives into WMD's. Example, I don't worry about England launching a nuclear attack on the United States because that country is governed by laws and principles that respect life and national sovereignty (similar to our own). However, even though North Korea probably has a far less sophisticated nuclear weapons program than Great Britain, that country is governed by madmen with no principles and no respect for life. Ghengis Khan had no "WMD's" but was able to kill plenty of people. The Irrational Left has a weaker version of this same sickness: an Agenda of Elitism. Certain people will lead and direct every aspect of society and individual life from number of children, to schooling, to what can be purchased and for how much, to how much one can earn, to healthcare, etc. This is the nature of the Democratic leadership today, NOT of JFK's time. Anyone or anything that subverts this Agenda is anathema. Right now, President Bush represents a threat to the Agenda of Elitism and is bearing the brunt of every insult, slur and slop of mud that can possibly be thrown. Whether he succeeds or fails at anything (including the obvious successes in Afghanistan and Iraq) he is vilified either way. The Irrational Left will sacrifice ANYTHING, including truth, reality, even the lives of innocent people, to maintain their position of Elitism and their Agenda. This is no "conspiracy," it's simple human nature. In this world there are really two kinds of people: those who wish to run their own lives while respecting others, and those who wish to run everyone else's lives. Those who are led by the latter category can only hope their government is benevolent or at least benign while those led by the former category can decide for themselves (and that is the underlying foundation of "Americanism"). George Washington said, "Government is not reason, it is a force like fire...it is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master." The history of totalitarian states and dictatorships bears truth to his statement--MK--
