nice and true kerry.

but what about the rough and ready of it? the day to day, month to month, 2h to 2h (name your year) battle over this same subject. where real money is wagered and won or lost.

id est: e.g: the battle (aka the generals) sometimes obscures the goal, and the battle sometimes, is in fact just what it is.

mh wants to talk about right now in your face what he sees that makes him think what some of us see wrong.

we have three years of posts, premonitions, visiting gypsys, foreign correspondants, voodoo this and that, and thus far, we (the bears) have been dead on for over 36 months. we the bears are also ready to see an interim mini bull. past is present.

so what?

so what, if MH has an unsubstanitated point. he doesn't offer an investment outlook per se. he asks only for a change in attitude. attitudes don't make money. they simply make you feel good on a given day.

i've got a enough bucks left that i can feel good with a bottom shelf scotch. if i end up at the bridge, i'll switch to a sip of whatever i can barter, or on the side of the rail, i'll brew that shoe.

this thing is going to get very earthy for some people. in a bear market, it is the lowest common denominator that counts. in a bull, it is the other way around.

Do you believe that the current situation in the US equates to:
o- massive unemployment
-o- lack of opportunities for gainful employment
-o- lack of investment opportunities
-o- lack of purchasing power by the masses
?

Sure, 6% unemployment is lousy after what we just experienced but it is a far cry from the 19% unemployment seen in Eastern Germany, for example.

As to one of your other points, wealth has ALWAYS remained in the "hands" of a concentrated few. There is no change in today's world.
