Providing business remains good, generally, and there are no insolvencies.

Sure, but interest, however little, still has to be paid. Further, they have shown that, besides the misallocation of new investment funds into nonsense projects like the repurchase of a company's shares on the market, the return on borrowed dollars, even those apparently "well invested", is far less than it used to be.

In a bear market, the winner is the one who loses the least. So, it could be that the one who put his money in the bank turns out to be the winner. In deflationary times money is always king.
