That's not true, either literally or in the way you mean it .... i am as american as it is possible to get, entirely of and pertaining to these Americas .... got blood of at least one other continent, but so what, it's been here for a while, acclimatising

What you meant was of course 'anti-US', and that's not true either, not even close .... we love those wonderful classically liberal jeffersonian democracy ideals as stated, it's the gap between them and reality we find hard to stomach, the times of hypocrisy and corruption in Washington that turns those ideals to myth

Example - right there in the expression 'jeffersonian democracy' there is contrast between myth and reality - Jefferson advocated taking this g.w.n. from us, he was also fully in favour of the slavers taking Tejas, well before they did .... so how classically liberal was that, eh ..... really he wrote some fine stuff, standing on the shoulders of giants who came before him of course, but still worthy of note, that we do not dispute .... it's the gap that gets us, the hypocrisy

Fair bit here on the two-sided TJ, Manifest Destiny, etc, in a piece on Daniel Webster - csulb.edu

Send us your Daniel Websters, your Steven Rogers, and you'll find us solidly pro-US .... send us your Ragostas and Perles, and we'll still be at heart pro-US, we'll just call bullshit on the crocks they try to hand us, that's not the USA we want to know, it's not the USA of our friends down there either - more US nationals think like us than there are canucks in total
