that is not the highest estimate. I saw one method will put it 50%+ death rate. Rubbish.

Having said that I do think the treatment in HK is a little too conservative. In Guangdong, the variety of medicine being used is much wider. I read one story about a hospital in Guangdong, there were 70+ doctors and nurses got infected in first half of Feb.. And desperately seeking a way to treat them, the hospital separated them into 3 groups, and each tried one type of antibiotics. 2-3 days later, found out 2 groups were much more effective than the other one. And at the end, all 70+ care givers in this hospital were recovered. By comparison, I read that HK does not even gave antibiotics a try.

There were plenty of SARS cases in Guangdong showed that antibiotics was effective, especially in the early treatment. And Guangdong death rate still remains <3.8%

And HK doctors seldom use any herbal medicine and some other methods either, and all these showed some effects, and they do make a difference.

And maybe the fear of the malpractice lawsuit is more popular in HK, I don't know.
