Thanks to everyone on the thread for your concern and well wishes. Things have settled down now and even though we haven't actually talked to anybody in Stockton at least we know everybody's OK.

Having lived in the Midwest my whole life I'm pretty used to the old tornado drill. I noticed that a few days ago was the four year anniversary of an F5 tornado that hit Tulsa (where I was living at the time). That was about the scariest one I've been through. I was raised in the "manly tornado watching school" pioneered by my dad. That's where you get the women folk to take cover while you stand on the front porch in the hail and rain and look for funnel clouds and comment on the strange green tint of the sky and say inane things like "This ain't nothin' compared to the '54 twister that sucked the hair right off of Grandma's head and blew a live chicken clean through the barn door. That old chicken laid scrambled eggs for weeks."

Basking in normalcy,
C Nelson
