No, I'm not wrong, Cyberken, but I do have a different opinion than you regarding the Left. Just as with Conservatives, there are leaders and followers, those who create an agenda based upon firm values and priorities and those who follow (while sometimes vacillating with mood swings, the weather, or opinion polls). Would I be overly complicating the military to suggest there are generals, colonels and GI's or a corporation by suggesting there are owners, officers, salespeople and secretaries? No. The Elite of the Left would have us see them as gods or kings, wiser and more noble than their citizens or subjects who are too stupid, corrupt or immoral to manage their own lives. These Elite could either be so naiively egotistic as to actually believe they deserve such power or so malevolently egotistic and corrupt as to simply want power, money and fame for purely selfish reasons. Either way, the key word is "egotistic" with totalitarian dictators achieving the "super-egotistic." The followers of the Elite buy into this nonsense through some combination of propaganda, fear, insecurity, or lack of knowledge. Conservatives, Libertarians, Objectivists, etc., make their best case through example and constant education, both of which require work and rational thought. The mindless "Bush is a Chimp/Blair is a Poodle!" rantings seen on this and other threads is repeated ad nauseum by the followers of the Elite Left and has become less and less effective recently due to the obvious success of Bush/Blair and the utter failure of the Left/UN/Chirac/etc. In this way, much of the remaining Left (those without the capacity or integrity to acknowledge reality) have clearly become the "Irrational Left." We see them here, over and over, whining and pining, trying to hand out the same discredited leaflets... This is a terrific opportunity in modern history to expose the Left for what it has become and perhaps always was: the Elite with visions of bureaucratic despotism, and their Irrational mindless sloganeering followers. Both choosing to ignore truth and reality, both willing to subject humanity to the horrors of terrorists and dictators. And yes, I think it's that simple...--MK--
