Lizzie, RE: The problem with these surveys is they never, never represent what is actually going on with IT spending. The actual spending dollars will never be disclosed because it is a competitive advantage issue. I think the "flat to down" spending dialogue is all that the surveys ever produce. While in general I'd agree with you, the Merrill surveys in specific have been pretty accurate. They were consistently strong until mid 2000 and they were early in seeing the capex decline.
