I was simply pointing out this was not true if you ask the average person how they feel. You are the one assuming that I use their view as some sort of indicator of what the economy is doing. I don't, I use the various indicators I have access to, none of which rely on sentiment. Sentiment is meaningless as an indicator simply because it always follows price and price has zero predictive value. So why would one make an assumption based on a trailing indicator of a measurement with zero predictive value?
