Very well, the russians did the same kind of action, in place of degree .... not fair to characterise that as lie, i'm just operating on general impression, never counted the casualties or square footage of earth surface terrorised by each ... don't think it matters very much either

There were no clean hands in all that, you can't paint the russians as saints, no point in trying .... there was often a lamentable paucity of clean hands in the lands of the Rest of Us on which those two would play out their proxy wars, as well ..... too high a proportion of homo sapiens sapiens among the participants involved, one suspects

Alright, i do understand better the question now, got to go in a few minutes though

'arm and fund an invasion' - you're referring to Playa Girón? ... a/k/a 'bay of pigs'? ... well the russians made their own gross violation of decency and common sense there, by sticking those missiles in, soon after .... which, in its own weird way, led to stability, through the agreement to leave Cuba in peace, for taking the missiles out .... still, bringing weapons into our personal hemisphere is not gonna endear them to us, is it

'Would the U.S. have allowed the Soviets to have "Overthrow Congress" rallies inside the U.S.? The answer is "No".'

Ah, the free speech issue [sort of], my favourite .... yes i will agree it was stupid of US agencies to fund cubanos, who will immediately be painted as foreign subversives as a direct result .... the law of México is the same, by the way, it is highly illegal for a foreigner to interfere in politics, or for a mejicano to take his money [widely overlooked though] .... same same with US law, hence all the ruckus about some chinese temple contributing

Still, it is vitally important that the Rest of Us not stand by and watch cubanos forever deprived of their freedom of expression .... imho .... so while it is fantastically stupidly counter-productive for US admin to involve itself in any way whatsoever, there is a responsibility on the part of the Rest of Us toward our fellow americano the cubano ... direct cash payment would likely not be the most effective way, in any case, there have to be better .... travel to the island, for a start ... a person to person engagement, one step at a time ... Castro can't arrest us all .... got to go, later, cheers
