Agreed, I"m talking about long term... every bear I've met is aware of this kind of thing... what's on the cover of time.. that stuff. My point is that there has been very little shift in the long run view on equities. That IS bearish IMO especially in this environ.

<it takes a whole lot of long-term bullishness to put in a good top, which suggests grace is right that the sentiment doesn't help much for timing purposes.>

Oh I agree with market timing... I'm just saying anyone who has followed investing in a serious way, knows that buying out of favor, and selling in favor works over the long run. I don't care what her majesty says about following price or whatever. Another minute truth amid the redwoods... who cares, that statement doesn't obviate the point at all: Prices go up, people get bullish, cheapness is gone.

1/2 the arguments around here are semantics anyway... when Grace gets involved she likes to pick mechanistic parts of ideas she has an opinion about and throw away all the babies in the same tub, it's just her personality... that's OK, there's usually some truth under her microscope if you want to bother to bend down and look. Me, I'll keep my head up and be careful of traffic.
