The Mohawk was used for recon among other missions.

It had "hard points" because the Army had the Marines design it to get around the Air Force's lock on fixed wing attack planes. It came to mind when I read about the Air Force and the Navy having to use F-15/16/18s to locate targets. Pretty tough to do with those fast movers.

I have been puzzling out what is going to happen with air. You read the reports about Wallace that I posted. Wallace did not have control of Air in Iraq, and one of the things that came out is that he and the Div commanders did not know what Air had accomplished during the sandstorm. This was going to Franks HQ and they knew how much the Repub guard had been degraded, but the full extent was not known at Corps level.

And what happened with the Marine Corps Harriers? I have not read a word about them. They set out Afghanistan. Legs were too short off the Carriers.
