Agreed on the buck, CD$ up to 72¢ this morning. Canadian NHL teams are pleased.-g/ng

I track the TNX insofar as it is often a leading indicator to equity prices. The last week has seen some bizarre activity there and is worth keeping an eye on IMO.

Allan - "US$ is hosed"

Yes, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some inside action on that soon, leading us to another those "strengthening of the dollar" rally, like the one we had in August and lasted for three weeks before topping. If you remember that one started with a Dow 150 point gap up on 8/6 and that gap didn't get filled until mid-September.

Look at, say, rolling 3-day volume on the rally off the October lows and the rally off the March lows. In both cases, three-day COMPQ volume totals rose steadily right into the peak, while NDX volume totals ebbed off their initial surge.

This would support the notion of a topping process underway, potentially even complete. The prior three-day COMPQ volume surge preceded the price high by one week, so that might mean one minor new high.
