Hi Steve: I am old, but I'm still able to go deep in the hole and backhand a sharp grounder, jump, twist, turn and fire to first just nipping the runner. Lately I have been holding overnight; the last two days I've shorted the QQQ's, held some overnight, and have done ok. Covered some premarket and the remainder first half hour today. The rest of the day I kept shorting, covering ad nauseum...all for naught and break-even. I have no idea what Olly's 'time period diversification' means. But if it makes sense to you, and your style is to hold some core, swing and micro trades...do it. Find your trading style, and if it works for you go for it....kinda like Nomar Garciaparra swinging at the first pitch when all the "experts" tell him not to. It works for him. I wish you great trading success. I know you'll do it.

Good luck, Steve! I've found that sticking to what works for a trader/investor is the way to go. I wouldn't suggest trying anything new especially if you are considering doing this full time. Stick with what's been working and if it isn't, step away from the market for awhile. Nothing works all the time, everytime. If your process is based on solid principles, it will work extremely well over the long term. There is always another day and another trade.
