The question is "How scarce?". You may have noticed that there are not many advocates of selling architectural treasures to the highest bidder because resources for charity work are too scarce, like yourself.

Do you understand that nature's response to scarcity is population collapse? For the human species there are the "Four Horseman of the Apocalypse".

Yes I understand all that. And none has to do with protecting cultural heritage, and in particular, making architectural treasures available to everyone, not just the rich and their entourage.
