golf, private investments.

It's all about the risk/return ratio, patience, and deep enough pockets to establish sufficiently diversified holdings to offset significant risk.

Conventional wisdom has the risk weighted return across all market segments generally in balance. However, there has been a large dislocation in the capital markets caused by VCs response to the trashing of their portfolios. This has had widespread ramifications across the entire spectrum of private investments.

Why would I pay $1.50 per risk-weighted future-dollar for public equity when I can get distressed equity at $0.15 per risk weighted future-dollar? Or government secured debt bearing 2.3%/month?
