I spent two furious days painting a couple years ago, in a flurry of inspiration and resolve. Exhausted after two days consumed by my obsession with my brush, I wiped my brow and stepped back to admire my handiwork that gave birth to the vision that had haunted me for years. My wife stopped what she was doing and proclaimed it as fine a painting as she'd ever seen. It was vast and impressive, and it would have cost thousands to have purchased on the open market, to be sure; but whatever, I was just happy my friggin' house was finally painted.
