You have to be kidding. Even the liberal Chris Matthews admitted that President Bush looked great and very natural. And beyond that, you do not land on a carrier in a jet with a business suit on. He had to be prepared to be ejected if the jet slid off the carrier.

Plus, the troops loved it. You could tell that if you watched any of it at all.

<<Hell he made Dukakis look sincere in his tank pose.>>

Bush flew the jet, Dukakis stuck his head out of a parked tank.

How Hatred Makes Some People into Shameless Hypocrites

Gerry's post is, quite simply, pure hypocrisy. He compares two people, George W. Bush and Mikey Dukakis, both of whom had designs on the Presidency at the time they wore military uniforms of some sort.

One of these men is a literal military Commander, by far and quite obviously having more right and greater need to wear the uniform than the other guy-- who just happens to be a twit, and whose twittery was made readily apparent to ALMOST everyone the minute he showed up smiling in a tank like some cartoon groundhog emerging from a long winter's nap.

Despite the clarity of the circumstance, Gerry cannot help but grumble against and criticize the true Commander, to instead actually extol the relative sincerity of the guy who, since he was Commander of Nothing, had no need and no right to wear any uniform at all. Had Gerry any sort of principles here, he would have excoriated both Bush and Dukakis for 'attempting to blur the line between the military and its leadership of civilians.' But noooooooo. Dukakis gets the relative praise and Bush is assaulted.

Why did Gerry do such a thing? It is quite obvious that poor Gerry has been made blind by hatred. Gone to the Dark Side, Gerry has; and now all that is left for him is flaming hypocrisy. Pathetic...
