Hypothetically speaking, if North Korea can be fully disarmed, I'd be willing to consider letting them take over SK.

Non-hypothetically speaking, the fascists in N Korea have made their place a desert. You wish these, then, would take over the democratic S Korea, an enormous trading partner of US, Japan, China and Europe, so the Southerners might also worship the Great Leader and have their land turned into a wasted gulag like the North?

The takeover cannot be allowed because S Korea is democratic.

That's the US's bottom line today.
