It's quite interesting how it happens -

Au hits all-time highs in Australian dollars on Australian dollar slump - and Australian gold stocks don't go up cause "gold is priced in USD", and it's going down in USD terms. Now they are not going up cause Australian dollar is moving up?

I guess, there is no real investment interest in physical gold, so far, so currencies dominate the gold market.
It will come.
