This is going to sound stupid and kiss-arse, but my customers are fun and funny. All of the assistants like to answer my phone when I'm goofing off (which is nearly always. I only answer it when I'm at my desk taking a nap because I've been goofing off too hard. <g>). "Your clients are sooooo nice." Other brokers clients holler at the assistants, even when they had nothing to do with putting Gemstar or Lumenis (2 of my losers) in their portfolio. But when indexing took you down more than 40% in the past 3 years, and some people did even worse than the indexers, then it has been a bad time to be a broker who believes that stocks are always the place to be. Which is true of most of them. Also, we get a lot of bad press. It may be true, but it's definitely bad. However, the CEOs of the same cos with the bad press tend to get glowing writeups. That doesn't compute, but feces runs downhill.
