Great idea... I will have to look into the modular USB pc card. I just added a 256k mb memory chip to my laptop. The next step is to get an external drive to make and image before I try to update to xp. Actually I am thinking I may be better off doing a clean install and then adding what I want.

After adding the memory I got a weird message on the start up screen that said my suspend to disk file was missing. I had to down load a PHDisk file and run it from a bootable floppy to create the file. I had to restart the machine a good 10 times to catch the start up screen message. Is there any way to temporarily freeze the start up screen?

So far so good.
