Lizze,
Here is the link to EZChip. On the third line is a presentation which will take you 10 minutes. It is in layman's terms. The 10 minutes will give you some knowledge about EZhcip's applicaations. Cheers, Immi If you live around the Bay Area you could do some digging localy as to who they are testing with. I live in Boston and it is impossible to get more research here. Immi

thanks immi, thats a nice post

Sorry to say I don't know the networking biz well enough to know how Cien products stack up against Cisco or whoever. So I'll have to take your word for it.

The reason I started picking up Ciena last year was due to the complete decimation of their original mkt long haul transport. 2 years ago long haul transport was a huge mkt according to Gartner and Ciena had 400mm+ in revs on a quarterly basis in that mkt alone. Cien was not alone on that gravy train there were vtss and others. Then long haul disappeared and now ciena makes virtually all its money on that switching product. Well, my feeling is that emerging mkts going from first to worst in a 2 year period is a classic overcapacity problem unless the mkt is 100% fraud. Of course there was a whole bunch of fraud in this business we all know that but nowhere near 100% so just based on mkts and how they should perform my feeling is ciena is undervalued... my guess is some of their "dead" mkts will re-emerge a little while the current revenue stream stabilizes thats the way it usually works, we'll see.
