But ElM, a 1 litre car [unless Formula One design] doesn't put out enough power to zoom me along in comfort, with a car full of people and stuff. Also, little cars don't burn much fuel, so it takes longer to get the carbon out of the ground and into the air where the ecological system can start feasting on it. Call me noble, community-minded, altruistic etc, but I don't mind paying more money to help feed the Brazilian forests, Kiwi corn crops and ocean-going plankton fodder [especially if I get some benefits too]. Also, the Arabs need the money, so I don't mind paying for more oil than a 1 litre car would use. Noblesse oblige, Mqurice
