Nonsense. Government should always be there to take care of those who have fallen through the cracks, suffered a catastrophic loss or otherwise not had a leg up on life. Cutting government, as you propose and as the Repuglicans in the U.S. would do it, would only tend to create a permanent underclass, seething in discontent and sure that their master class were a bunch of completely immoral criminal jerks. And they would be absolutely correct. OTOH, cutting the U.S. military budgets by 80% would create a benevolent and useful future. Therefore, we shall not do something that intelligent! You do see the logic here, don't you?
