If one looks bact to the War itself, 10% or more died in accidental helo crashes. Only planes lost were to FF. The Aircraft carrier is one of the a major symbols of America's ability to project power anywhere in the world. Going to the Lincoln to greet returning solders was the highest form of compliment and thanks. Going their and landing on a jet was also symbolically underscoring that the team of the Carrier works together to launch brave men into battle. The extra time the President spent going all over the ship and greeting and posing with as many as he could also underscored the nations thanks and pride in all the fine men and woman who create with teamwork and cooperation the formidable strength and power of America. The President by doing as the soldiers do showed the complete faith of all Americans in the quality and professionalism of the crew of the Lincoln and all of America's armed forces. Just recently another crew died while landing. The President showed that all must be willing to take reasonable risks and leaders must understand what is involved when asking our military to put all on the line. PRESIDENT GEORGE W.
