At what point should we have had more guards, and at what sites? Is nuclear potential, or is bio, or is chemical WMD more dangerous...? Several thoughts... 1) UNSCOM said there weren't any nuclear or other WMD to be found ~ before the war. 2) Many in the world said no nuclear or other WMD were there~before the war. 3) The US could go by several other sources, but certainly had no boots in the country to begin even looking for sites for several days after arriving. They were quite busy trying to rid Iraq of the Saddam regime. And don't forget....We hadn't had many, if indeed *any*, of the Card Deck folks like Tariq Aziz, or ANY of the top scientists.... After reading those articles you posted, and others, it appears the looters were looting AS the Americans were entering Iraq....Of course, this means that these fool looters weren't just ordinary-casual-run-of-the-mill looters.... So who were they, and where are they and where are they NOW? Now, one month after the statue fell, it would appear that there are between 700 and 2000 sites to check. How large is each site? One on TV appeared to be several blocks big, showing the pictures with the barrels of whatever it was...had unprotected US soldiers guarding the site and unprotected Iraqi citizens walking all over... HOW MANY guards should be posted at each supposed site? How many guard should be posted at museums, hospitals, and guarding the civilians, in the ENTIRE country....the size of CA. Last time I heard anything regarding how many coalition forces were in Iraq (maybe 10 days ago) it was about 135,000. Obviously, these folks aren't all guards, but medical folks, supply folks, transportation folks to carry papers, materials found, and rebuilding supplies, meal and water delivery folks, and all the etcs.... SO, if one has 700-2000 potential sites to guard, how many should be there guarding each site????....24/7 BTW.... I personally question whether we have enough people there to do everything that is being asked of the Military to do....
