COUNTERPUNCH: Reflections on the Rise of the Fascist State

Jim,

My planning sense tells me that the steps to be taken in Saudi Arabia include removal of our uniformed military presence, followed by intense covert action led by DoD Office of Special Plans [1] covert operatives fomenting unrest among the extreme Wahabbist fundamentalists against the Abdullah government which we'll fail to prop up. This will be followed by a populist militancy led by a coterie of naive imams covertly offered support for the overthrow of the House of Saud by the OSP.

Once the rebellion is in full swing, the royal family will seek and be granted direct U.S. military intervention in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia in exchange for the transformation of the "nationalized", (i.e. totally owned by the royals) oil industry in S.A. and a return to the good old days of imperial concessions from the pre-OPEC days. The grateful royals will accept cash and the promise of an annuity stream and concede oil resource ownership to U.S. corporate raiders. In subsequent years, the U.S. will renege on all treaties with the House of Saud, obtaining complete control of the oil prize.

Ciao!

I'll predict that within a couple of years, this organization will be metastasizing into a full-blown version of the Nazi SS corps.

"Everybody knows that Iran is next, not Saudi Arabia.'

Now..now..James. You're way behind the times.

The U.S. will be seizing large areas of the Sahara and Gobi desserts so that they can be paved over and implanted with photocells for the collection of electricity.

This energy resource will be necessary to power the next generation of combat laser beams so that the U.S. may finish the conquest of the world. As the only Superpower in the world today it is clearly our manifest destiny to crush all of those who agree and disagree with us.

Only then will we be in a position to attack the commie martians and extend our conquests to the stars.
