repeat my belief that the extremes of both sides have taken over. The new Pal prime minister represents an ever so slight glimmer of hope.

Tom Friedman's latest column says much the same, equally oblivious to the chance that it is Sharon's and Bush's policies of the last two years (you know, the ones you and he opposed) that have caused this "glimmer" to flicker. You think Abu Mazen would be PA Prime Minister if Mitzna had won and the Israelis had unilaterally withdrawn from the territories?

If it was Sharon's policy that caused the 'glimmer' in the first place, wouldn't that argue for continuing the policy until it achieves tangible results, not reversing it for what is quite likely a bunch of play-acting?
