Doubts raised on Globe work of reporter Times accused
boston.com

A review of 85 stories written for The Boston Globe by Jayson T. Blair, who engaged in what The New York Times yesterday called ''frequent acts of journalistic fraud'' during a four-year career at the Times, suggests that Blair's pattern of falsification may date back as far as his internships and a freelance arrangement with the Globe.

Doubts have surfaced about a handful of stories Blair wrote for the Globe during a brief stint as a freelance reporter from late 1998 to early 1999, just before he was hired by the Times, and during summer internships in 1996 and 1997. The Globe's editor, Martin Baron, said the paper will continue its investigation to determine whether there are problems in other stories.
