DJ, I have always disliked mobs, crowds, central planners telling me how I shall live, authoritarian busy-bodies, bureaucratic interferers and other general bludging dominance hierarchy proponents.

Unfortunately, I suspect we are becoming like mitochondria - a once separate entity which became subsumed into the greater being for the greater good and symbiotic survival. I am not sure that that is a good thing, though generally my life is better for specialists, organisation, government and laws for the common good.

The pace and strength of the process is increasing, so I expect it's just a law of nature, like gravity, and there's no use opposing it. Ted Kaczynski tried. So have others. They are crushed. The claims that we are free are a deceit. Our freedoms are increasingly circumscribed and few seem to be aware of it.

Iraqis have not been liberated. They are not free. They have been conquered by a greater power than Saddam's totalitarian gang of confiscatory criminals. They will be better off, but they will definitely NOT be free.

So it goes,
Mqurice
