And India can have those jobs, Bill. Houston's call centers have drained out of town like someone poked a hole in the bottom of a can. Call center jobs are repetitive, stressfull, dreary affairs. Very high turnover rate, it's a burnout job. I put my time in on the phones, wouldn't go back to it for nothing. You wouldn't believe the abuse that gets heaped on you. You can pay Indian workers a fraction of what you need to pay US workers to stay in the call center. The national mean for tech support reps is $18.54 according to America's Job Bank Dept of Labor stats. And it's hard to keep skilled US workers at those rates.
