Internap Joins Terremark's 'NAP of The Americas,' Boosting Internet Connectivity To Southern Hemisphere

ATLANTA & MIAMI, May 14, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Internap(R) Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), the leading provider of performance-based routing services over the Internet, today announced an agreement with Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (AMEX:TWW), a leading designer, builder and operator of integrated Tier-1 Network Access Points (NAPs) and best-in-class network services, to move its Miami-based Internet solutions business to Terremark's "NAP of the Americas," located in downtown Miami.

By moving its Private-Network Access Point (P-NAP)(R) operations into the Terremark facility, Internap will extend its high-speed IP connectivity solutions to businesses in Miami and throughout the region, joining a network of P-NAPs operated by Internap in major cities throughout North America, as well as London and Tokyo.

"Our focus on delivering carrier-class network performance and unmatched service levels aligns perfectly with the critical mass of Tier-1 carriers located in the NAP of the Americas," said Dave Abrahamson, Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Sales, Internap. "The combined capabilities and carrier-neutral business models of both Internap and Terremark give customers a superior choice of Internet-based solutions to best suit their needs."

Internap customers located in the NAP of the Americas facility will benefit from:

-- Superior performance, with the ability to avoid Internet congestion;

-- The ability to quickly scale IP services to quickly meet rapidly changing demand;

-- Expedited installation and upgrades across a variety of Internet services; and

-- Flexibility in meeting individual colocation and hosting requirements. The NAP of the Americas is a carrier-neutral Tier-1 Network Access Point housed within a disaster resistant, exceptionally secure and extremely redundant facility. It provides a neutral connection point where telecommunications carriers establish connections between and among their networks for the exchange of Internet traffic. The NAP of the Americas also provides premium-class colocation where carriers, Network Service Providers, xSPs and enterprises house their equipment and their network facilities in order to be close to the Internet traffic exchange occurring at the NAP. The facility also provides a menu of related managed services with industry leading service level agreements.

"Our critical mass of carriers, coupled with our carrier neutrality, has successfully made the NAP of the Americas a magnet for companies such as Internap who recognize our facility as being integral in the global transport of Internet traffic," said Jamie Dos Santos, Chief Marketing Officer of Terremark Worldwide, Inc. "When you add our managed services, now enhanced by Internap's high performance routing capabilities, our Network Access Point is second to none."
