Examples????? I don't recall the Powell UN speech on this subject but still remember the WMD lies from the State of the Union and Powell's lies to the UN. Shame!

How can you believe the Baathists and the Fundamentalists would partner on anything. Maybe you have forgotten....15 of the 19 were Saudis and Iraqis and Iranians were conspicuous by their absence.

Re: "Iraq was partnered with and directly participating in the world wide terror apparatus."

So... you are calling the CIA, and most of the Intelligence Services of the western world "morons", eh?

Oh, I'm SO SURE you have superior knowledge to what is available to them :)

But... don't you know... that whenever Iraq has attempted 'asymetric warfare' in the past decade or so (like their few pathetic stabs at bombings directly after Desert Storm - ALL of which failed in amateurish manner), they have merely demonstrated that their capabilities beyond the borders of Iraq were very limited.

And... you ARE aware that the avowedly secular Iraqi Baathists have been in near continuous warfare with fundamentalist terrorist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda for decades... so are HIGHLY unlikely to be effectively partnered with any of them - since they are mortal enemies.

Hell, the US has provided more support (financial, military training and supply, etc.) over the years to Muslim fundamentalists who engage in 'terrorism' (against whomever we deem to be our current enemy, of course) than Iraq has.

Why, we just signed 3 weeks ago a ceasefire with a terrorist group domiciled in a Kurdish area of northern Iraq on the border with Iran... because they target IRANIANS with their car bombs, and so, an 'enemy of my enemy'....
