More CD Rom Questions: Okay, got the door open by pushing a paper clip into the little hole. door opened just a tad, but could manually pull open the CD carrier. the button to move the CD in and out does not work at all. I don't know if it capable of reading a CD or not. Should I assume the in-out mechanism is shot? will try to read a cd later. larry

Larry, I had the same problem with my GTW burner last Fri..
Finally flipped the door down and ran my finger across the front. Voila ! Worked right away. Dirt in my computer ! Horrors ! ! !

I won't detail the 2 1/2 hours that preceded that simple remedy, checking for drivers etc.

Geez ! ! ! Glad you got yours to work.
