no argument with anything but the "outlier" paragraph. normally i would agree with that, too, but in this case the outlier is a derivative meltdown.

options are derivatives. the other side of your long options is JPM.

how exactly does one collect in case of being right?

Taleb has made a persuasive case that outliers don't lie near as far out as "we" generally seem to think, for sure there's a strategy to profit from that. takes an iron constitution to last through the death by a thousand cuts though.
